My Story

When I was first diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis, I felt like I had been handed a life sentence. The advice I found was repetitive—take your medications and learn to live with it. But something felt missing. The voices offering guidance didn’t look like me, and holistic options were rarely discussed. I knew there had to be more to managing Lupus than just prescriptions.

As I navigated this journey, I realized that herbal remedies could help with flares and pain—something Lupus warriors deal with daily. Like many, I wanted to reduce my dependence on medications while still making informed, safe decisions about my health. Through research and experience, I discovered that balance is key—combining the best of holistic and traditional medicine to create a wellness plan that truly supports the body.

Why I Started This Blog

Lupus disproportionately affects Black women, yet our voices are often unheard in medical spaces. I was fortunate to have a support system and doctors who listened, but I also had to learn how to advocate for myself—a skill many of us aren’t taught.

Too many people are suffering in silence. I want this blog to be the space where newly diagnosed Lupus warriors find hope, knowledge, and community. A space where we don’t just survive—we thrive.

What Makes This Blog Unique?

I’m not just sharing information—I’m living this.
  • I’ve battled Lupus firsthand.
  • I’ve undergone a kidney transplant due to complications.
  • I’m actively studying herbalism to deepen my understanding of holistic healing and earn Herbalist accreditation.
  • I’m a Black woman advocating for those often overlooked in healthcare.
Unlike many wellness blogs, I don’t push extremes. Medication has its placeHerbs have their place. The key is learning how to use both wisely—and always in consultation with your doctor.

One Thing I Want You to Remember

Lupus may change your life, but it doesn’t define it.

You deserve to be heard. You deserve to ask questions and get answers. You deserve to feel good in your body.

We’re in this together. 💜
